The Evansville Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present an organ concert consisting of the six Organ Sonatas of Felix Mendelssohn on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 4pm Central Time, at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Evansville. The concert will feature all three pipe organs at First Presbyterian, the large C. B. Fisk Opus 98, the Evansville Chapter's historic Edmund Giesecke organ, and the Brunzema portative or "Kisten Orgel" (box organ). Six chapter members will be performing the varied movements of the six sonatas. All are welcome; there is no admission charge; donations may be made to support the musical and educational work of the Evansville AGO Chapter. (Information on a potential livestream by the church will be provided later.)The mission of the American Guild of Organists is to foster a thriving community of musicians who share their knowledge and inspire passion for the organ.
