This #AgileLeaders Forum theme:

The financial markets are getting better - true or false?

The financial markets have had their ups and downs in the last few years, if not permanently. There is an invisible force called sentiment and this is very hard to really understand. But there is optimism today, and investors are becoming more enthusiastic about life sciences, and the sentiment is back. We will discuss what is happening in the financial markets and how this affects investment in life sciences. How much does the market affect the ability of a good idea to get finance? We will be discussing this exciting topic from as many angles as possible.

Amongst other experts, Max Herrmann, managing partner at Stifel Corp, will join us and give us his current analysis of the financial markets.

How you will benefit from attending Agile Leaders?

As a Business Leader, you will benefit from this "Agile" workshop by sharing common challenges and building deeper connections and trust with your peers. In turn, the aim is to build your confidence when working in areas normally outside your comfort zone, by learning and having discussions with this / your "Agile" peer network. You can speak to people in a similar position about issues you may not have the opportunity to talk about elsewhere. You can discuss your challenges by learning from other people's experiences to help you find a solution or spark an idea. Why let leaders of emerging companies reinvent the wheel to be successful when we can learn from the experiences of others who have faced similar challenges before?

Chatham House Rules apply - "what goes on in the workshop, stays in the workshop - so to speak!" We are planning to write up some of the interesting features of the discussion but won't attribute anyone's comment or view so they can be identified. This is so we feel we can a free and open discussion without the worry about being quoted somewhere.

Our mission is to help you build your innovation enabled healthcare business so it is "fit for purpose," truly innovative and attractive to the global markets. Helping you build solid trustworthy networks with your peer group, and help spread your creative R&D business network nationally and internationally. Our motivation and focus is on helping you build long-term trustworthy business relationships and support you on your journey through our supportive business community.

Prof Tony Sedgwick, the self-professed www.ThoughtDisruptor.com, facilitates this workshop. Tony has an esteemed career in life sciences in academia and in business, he is a trained pathologist. His accolades include being the global head of clinical trials at Roche AG, CEO of four life science companies, chairman of over 10 companies, and many positions within the academic community. He is also an active psychologist, which is helping him develop his "Agile" community group development passion, and he is a Jiu-Jitsu Grand Master VIII. Last year, Tony published the book "The Mighty Advisor, " a number 1 best seller in the Amazon STEM Business Management category.

We will start this Agile Leaders Workshop on Tuesday, 16 July, with a 1.30 pm arrival (with a prompt 2.00 pm start for the discussion). Our boardroom venue has kindly been provided by Mills & Reeve in their Botanic House, 100 Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 1PH.
