Agentic AI, also known as Autonomous AI, is a type of AI that is able to independently design, execute, and optimize workflows. Its recent emergence marks a dramatic shift towards more autonomous, decision-making entities capable of planning, reasoning, and taking actions in complex environments.

In this talk, Prasad Venkatachar will explore the core distinctions between Generative AI (Gen AI) and Agentic AI, highlighting key characteristics, technological advancements, and applications across various industries. He will also delve into how it’s possible to navigate from passive content generation in Gen AI to active problem-solving intelligence. This is done using the core building blocks of the Agentic AI architecture by way of retrieval augmented generation (RAG), the leading technique for enhancing large language models (LLMs) with enterprise data.

Speaker Bio:

Prasad Venkatachar is the Director of AI Solutions Engineering at VAST Data. He is focused on building AI Solutions by working with AI technology partners including NVIDIA. He is an IEEE Senior Member, BCS Fellow, Conference Advisory Board member of FMS: the Future of Memory and Storage, and Google Databases Partner Advisory. Prasad has launched multiple industry-leading Data & AI/ML products and solutions, collaborating with Google, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Cloudera, and ISV partners.

As a subject matter expert in Data and AI technologies, he has worked with Fortune 500 enterprise customers. Prasad has AI/Gen AI certifications from Google and NVIDIA, in Deep Learning and Cloud from AWS/Azure/GCP/IBM, and in Database (Oracle/DB2/Azure Data). He is a regular speaker at industry conferences including Microsoft Ignite, Oracle Open World, Gartner, and FMS; and developer conferences including Pass Summit, Oracle Users Group, Percona Live, SNIA, and SDC. Prior to VAST Data, he worked at Pliops, Lenovo, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and SanDisk.
