Agent Orange is the iconic Southern California punk band that revolutionized the West Coast sound by fusing the raw energy of punk with the melodic surf rock guitar riffs. Formed in 1979 by lead vocalist and guitarist Mike Palm, the band quickly distinguished itself from its peers, creating the legendary "surf punk" sound that came to define the Orange County punk scene. Their early work, especially the explosive track "Bloodstains," became an anthem for rebellious youth and helped push them into the punk spotlight.
Agent Orange's debut album, Living in Darkness (1981), remains a cornerstone of punk rock, blending catchy surf-inspired melodies with gritty, hard-hitting punk themes.
