About this Event
Title and topic : Ageing in a time of crisis: frailty & precarity in later life
In this talk, Professor Marshall will use data from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing to consider unequal experiences of later life during a period of crisis in the UK, following the financial crisis of 2008 and subsequent austerity policies. He will examine how inequalities in frailty are driven by precarities in diverse areas of later life (such as in housing, finances, employment, pensions and relationships) and consider whether particular combinations of precarity are especially harmful in terms of impact on frailty.
The seminar will be in person (4:00pm -5.15pm), followed by a short reception (up to 6pm) allowing time for networking.
