About this Event
Manchester Museum opens its doors for a special tour aimed at people aged 50 and over on this Age Friendly Culture Monday. As the Museum is not open to the public on Mondays, this is a unique opportunity to enjoy our galleries at a quiet time and to get closer to our collections, guided by members of the Visitor Team and our wonderful volunteers.
To celebrate East Asia Heritage Month, we are preparing a very special Culture Monday Edition, in which participants will have the opportunity to join Cantonese, Mandarin, and English tours at the Chinese Culture Gallery.
Also, you will be able to visit the Museum galleries at your own pace.
We have invited filmmaker Andy Zhang to present his new film "Master Deng and the Lion”, produced in collaboration with the Manchester Museum, and the film will be screened at the Museum Main Hall.
We will also have mooncake tasting and lantern riddle guessing to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, a harvest festival celebrated in Chinese culture.
