About this Event
Join us for a very special evening as we gather together to celebrate International Women's Month at Copita Willow Glen on Tuesday, March 11. The festivities will be led by the original Agave Girl herself, Joanne Weir, star of the PBS program “Joanne Weir’s Plates and Places” and author of Tequila: A Guide to Types, Flights, Cocktails and Bites. Joanne was also included in the San Jose Mercury News list of the Bay Area’s 10 best female-led restaurants for our #MeToo era.
Agave Girls promises to be another fun, informative and entertaining evening of tequila and cocktail tasting, delicious food and wonderful camaraderie. Enjoy passed appetizers, a tasting flight of tequila, and a three-course sit-down dinner paired with tequila cocktails featuring the wonderful award-winning tequilas of Nosotros, one of Joanne's new favorites. As in the past, we’ll start with a rooftop reception and a chance to mingle with Joanne and other like-minded women. Then we’ll enjoy a dinner featuring Copita Willow Glen Executive Chef Azari-Cuenca’s culinary wonders paired with Nosotros' finest spirits as described by one of their animated and fun founders, Carlos Soto.
Founded by Soto and Michael Arbanas and introduced in 2017, Nosotros was born from a college assignment and nurtured by a passion for tequila. Their very first expression, an unaged Blanco, put Nosotros on the map when it won “Best Tequila” at the San Francisco International World Competition amongst many of Mexico’s top brands. They took their newfound credibility and funneled it into the craft-conscious California market. Nosotros is now featured on cocktail menus and top-notch restaurant lists in several states across the country.
The doors open at 6pm and the seated dinner starts at 6:30pm. The cost for this event is $125 per person and includes tax, gratuity and Eventbrite fees. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Debuted in 2004, Joanne Weir's Agave Girls event offers women a celebratory environment to enjoy and appreciate the flavor and history of tequila. There really is no better way to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievement of women than with a dinner with other women at a woman-led business. And – oh yeah – tequila!
If you love great food, fine tequila, and great company, you won't want to miss this fun and enlightening evening. Grab a friend or come make some new ones – but purchase your tickets soon as this event sells out quickly. You’re not going to want to miss this event!
