To mark the centenary of the publication of Agatha Christie’s first novel, we present a special evening to celebrate the Queen of Crime.
The evening begins with an engaging talk by local mystery author Peter Boon, commemorating her enduring appeal and legacy of work, including a close look at her two much-loved detectives, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, and the impact Christie has on the crime fiction genre to this very day.
Peter’s talk is followed by a rare opportunity to enjoy one of Christie’s short plays, The Rats, presented as a live radio play.
THE RATS
Adulterous lovers, Sandra and David are called to the Torrances’ flat for evening drinks. However, no one is home. What first appears to be a simple mix up of dates turns to something far more sinister when the pair are locked in and, all at once, framed for M**der.
