Join the AGAPE team for a fun filled night of connection created specifically for youth aged 17 and under who:are adopted
have been in foster care
are in kinship care,
are in custody with anyone other than a biological parent
are in a guardianship arrangement
We are excited to be launching a brand new in-person youth group for AGPAE families.
The in-person youth groups are a fantastic and fun opportunity for connection, dialogue, and support around the issues and concerns that matter the most to youths.
Each month will be centered around a particular topic or theme that will oftentimes bridge ideas also explored in the parent/caregiver support group. Ideas such as identity formation, social media’s influence, the importance of positive mental health support and strategies for coping with negative emotions during stressful times. No matter the topic, our facilitators will encourage the teens to ultimately have a voice in how the group time is spent and how they’d like to shape each hangout interaction. Each meeting will be facilitated by our youth programming coordinator and another adoption foster kinship guardianship competent adult.
The youth group and the parent group both are held at the same time and place, so parents and kids can both get the connection they need! We can’t wait to see you!
