Join us for an afternoon of poetry with children's author Derick Wilder! Bring the kids and grandkids for this family friendly event! After the featured presentation, we will break for refreshments, book sales, and socializing. All guests are invited to share for the open reading to follow! (Please note: Due to the family focus of this month's event, please refrain from sharing work that may not be appropriate for all audiences.)This event is FREE and open to the public. (Donations appreciated.)

Derick Wilder is an author/educator and founder of FitLit Kids, which partners with local schools to offer fitness and literacy enrichment programs. His debut picture book, THE LONGEST LETSGOBOY, was a Margaret Wise Brown Honor Book and appeared on Kirkus’ “Best Books of the 21st Century (So Far)”. His second book, DOES A BULLDOZER HAVE A BUTT?, was a NY Public Library & Publisher’s Weekly “Best of 2022” book. Derick grew up swimming in the Florida surf, but now lives in Fort Mill, SC, with his teen, a Siberian husky, and an assortment of furry and scaly family members.
