After School: Paper Marbling & Book Making with Rebecca Pletsch

Join teaching artist Rebecca Pletsch for a creative exploration of paper marbling and book making. In this workshop, participants will learn the centuries-old art of marbling, where colorful inks float on the surface of water and are transferred onto paper to create mesmerizing, one-of-a-kind patterns. Each design is unique, echoing the fluidity and spontaneity of the process.
After experimenting with a variety of marbling techniques and color combinations, participants will use their custom papers to create hand-bound books. Rebecca will introduce simple yet elegant bookbinding methods, guiding participants step-by-step in assembling their own journals or sketchbooks.
This workshop combines the joy of surface design with the satisfaction of functional craft, resulting in finished works that are both beautiful and practical. All levels are welcome—no prior experience is required. Materials are provided.
