Join us at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine on November 15 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM for a “Members Only” event. Enjoy some light refreshments and get up close and personal with some of our new acquisitions in this exclusive after-hours event. This is a chance for our members to see some fascinating new artifacts related to soldier Thomas Conant Jr.’s wounding at the Battle of Antietam and his hospitalization in the Pry Barn. Conant was injured in the famous attack on the Sunken Road. We’ll also be displaying a magnificent surgeon’s coat that belonged to Surgeon Jacob Ludlow, who served in Frederick, Md., and then went west where he helped General Ulysses S. Grant recover from a fall. Director of Interpretation Dana Shoaf and Museum Executive Director David Price will be on hand to discuss these exciting new pieces and upcoming upgrades at the museum. This event is FREE for all members.
Please RSVP to Chris Reed at [email protected]
