We are excited to seize the current moment to focus our February 2nd Afro Roots Tuesdays on a very urgent issue for the Afro Roots and global African community by inviting one of America’s top Black doctors, Kamau Kokayi, for a special edition. Join us as we take a creative, informative journey with “the medicine man” and as we know in African tradition there is no dividing line between music, culture, and medicine. The global African community currently faces a crisis and a catch 22 that cannot be ignored by any aspect of our culture. Please invite your friends and family.
Dr. Kokayi received his Medical Doctorate from Yale School of Medicine, and completed his residency with board certification in Family Medicine. He went on to be certified in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and applied kinesiology, and has extensive post graduate homeopathic training in US and Europe. He is is currently the President of the Homeopathic Medical Society for the State of New York and retired last year from the NYS acupuncture board. With over 35 years experience integrating allopathic medical science with bioenergetic therapies and traditional healing systems, Dr. Kokayi’s broad knowledge base and depth of understanding provide him with a multilayered lens to evaluate and treat patients suffering in body, mind, and spirit. He has taken a particular interest in the human coronavirus, both in terms of its medical treatment and all of the work that has been conducted with this virus over the last twenty years.
Dr Kokayi will share his insights about this present virus, proposed vaccines, and alternative therapies. In the panic that has been fostered by the virulence of the virus, the media, and the government, people have been all too willing to consider vaccine therapy as the only viable option despite the vaccine industry’s legacy of injury and harm and the establishment of vaccine fund to assist those injured by vaccines. The truth is that other treatment options are being recognized with respect to pharmaceutical preparations and there is an increasing appreciation around the world for the role of nutritional supplements, homeopathy, and botanical medicines. Dr Kokayi will highlight some of these efforts. Moreover there is the issue of informed consent and everyone needs to understand what it means to take an experimental vaccine.
Throughout the talk there will be live musical interludes featuring several amazing musicians (to be announced).
Please note that this is an urgent special focus for our global community, so we are asking our community to please be there, share this with your loved ones, and kindly donate to the PayPal address (or alternative option) that we provide at the event.
Welcome to Afro Roots Tuesdays, a live music and culture series usually produced at Goddard Riverside in NYC, now brought to you as an independent special focus for this Zoom.
