Afro Latino Festival on Sunday, July 31st, at 1 Veterans Place, Silver Spring MD 20910 (Adjacent to the SS Civic Building). The time is from 1-9 pm. Co-sponsored by Carnival Nation, Afro-Expo Media (Moro); and, the African Diaspora Union (AFRIDU),
The event is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Afro-Latino community. We are expecting people representing the world including Colombians, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Salvador, Mexico, República Dominicana, Honduras, Venezuela, Panamá, the Caribbean, and people from the Continent of Africa, etc.
We will have local bands, DJs, and artists performing intoxicating soulsa rhythms such as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia, Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Afrobeats, Samba, Reggaeton, and Vallenato among others.
At 1-2:40PM, we will have Salsa lessons by Mayra Murillo direct from Cali, Colombia. Samba lessons will be led by Royalty Samba.
