About this Event
Purpose & Justification
Africa is at a pivotal inflection point in the adoption and governance of artificial intelligence. The decisions made now will determine whether the continent is a rule-follower in global AI, or a rule-shaper. The “agentic” AI paradigm (systems that act, decide and adapt with autonomy) presents both vast opportunity and unique risk for Africa — from health to agriculture, from governance to infrastructure. Africa AI Conference+1
APAIC2025 brings together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, researchers and practitioners in one place to define the frameworks, investments and human-capital strategies that will build Africa’s AI future. Africa AI Conference+1
Objectives
- Forge continental governance frameworks and policies for agentic AI that advance African priorities (digital sovereignty, inclusive innovation, data governance). Africa AI Conference+1
- Mobilise investment and infrastructure to support AI ecosystems across Africa (start-ups, innovation clusters, connectivity, compute). Africa AI Conference
- Build a scalable workforce and ecosystem of skills to enable Africa to participate in and lead the agentic AI era. Africa AI Conference
- Showcase African-led innovation — real-world deployments in agriculture, health, education, governance — to move from concept to action. Africa AI Conference
