May 25th is African Liberation Day! A call to the best sons and daughters of Africa and those in solidarity with the struggle for Black Power! African Liberation is a special day for us ! It is the 52nd anniversary of the founding of the African People’s Socialist party.
African Liberation Day, as an institution within the African Liberation movement, began in 1958 at the founding when different African states, activists, and leaders met in Ghana to discuss the unification of Africa. The charge was led by Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of independent Ghana.
Today, the African Liberation movement is still under attack, which be seen in the charges against the Uhuru 3, three activist in the facing up to 15 years in Pr*son each for fighting for reparations, opposing U.S. unjust wars and building international anti-colonial solidarity with the struggles of African, Indigenous and all colonized peoples!
This ALD is happening 110 years after the founding of Marcus Garvey UNIA, 60 years since Malcolm X took the struggle of African People in the US to the world stage-he spoke at the UN, in Cairo as well as in Oxford in 1965.
We are our own liberators!
Let's honor the struggles and triumphs of the African diaspora together. Don't miss out on this opportunity to connect with the community and celebrate our rich heritage. See you there!
