About this Event
About 40% of African American adults are living with some form of heart disease, and obesity affects 49.5% of African American adults, the highest rate among any racial/ethnic group in the U.S.
The Black Dietitian Panel will bring together esteemed Black dietitians to discuss vital topics related to heart health, dietary choices, and cultural influences on nutrition.
Our goal is to empower attendees with knowledge and resources that can lead to healthier lifestyles, particularly in communities disproportionately affected by heart disease.
The goal of this event is to provide:
1. Raise Awareness: Increase understanding of heart health and nutrition within the community.
2. Provide Resources: Offer practical advice and resources from experts that participants can apply daily.
3. Foster Community Engagement: Create a space for dialogue and connection among attendees, community members, community leaders, dietitians, and healthcare professionals.
