Tioga Arts Council (TAC) is pleased to present its African Diaspora: A Cultural Afternoon at Cloud Croft Studios - Barn, 1003 Sanford Rd., Owego on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 1 – 4 p.m. .
The African Diaspora is commonly defined as "the voluntary and involuntary movement of Africans and their descendants to various parts of the world during the modern and pre-modern periods."

“Culture shapes lives. It’s the languages they speak, the art they create, and many other ways they express themselves. These traditions reflect the history and creative spirit of African American and other cultures of the African diaspora.” The purpose of African Diaspora: A Cultural Afternoon is to offer an introductory space for visitors learn to African American and African diaspora history, and to regather oral traditions, art, and culture in one space.
