No prior experience required! Just bring your enthusiasm, a sense of rhythm and an open heart.

The class is supported by local drummers playing live music from West Africa on djembe and doundoun drums.

Each term, we'll learn more about the various ethnic groups - Susu, Mandinka, Baga, etc - through dances from the different areas of Guinea - Coast, Highlands, Forest and Savannah.

Alma Velasquez Huichulef is a dancer, percussionist, choreographer & Body Expression Teacher specialising in dances from the West Coast of Africa. She has a wealth of cultural knowledge and teaching experience and brings enthusiasm and love to her classes.
