🖤❤️💛💚 The Association for the Study of African American Life and History® (ASALH) has established the 2025 theme for Black History Month as 👷🏾♂️ "African Americans and Labor" 👷🏾♂️, with the goal of focusing on the various ways that work and labor have intersected with the collective experiences of Black people. 🤝🏾Make plans to join MPRD at Robert Hope Community Center on Friday, February 7 as we honor this theme with a full day of engaging activities including a career fair and creating vision boards.
Current Program Layout (More details to come!):
10:00 a.m. - Early Morning Bingo Game with our Retired Laborers and Friends: Led by the SAIL Team. Coffee, fruit and pastries will be served.
10:30 a.m. - Employment Fair: To include opportunities for YES Workers and other City employment offerings for the Summer. Lasts until 4:30 p.m.
2:45 p.m. - Vision Boards/Craft Activity. Materials will be provided. Lasts until 5:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. - Black History Program. More details to come. Refreshments will be served.
