Premier Health is pleased to announce the African American Wellness Walk (AAWW) is returning for its 24th year! This year’s theme is “Moving Hearts & Soles." Once again, this year’s walk/run will be a hybrid event - with both a virtual option and an in-person option. The virtual walk will be ongoing. The in-person walk will take place at Island MetroPark - 101 East Helena Street in Dayton, OH 45404 on Saturday, August 17, at 8 a.m. A brief program will begin at 7:30 a.m.The AAWW was established in 2000 to raise awareness and combat the heart health disparities for African Americans. In the over two decades since, the walk has grown to address the alarming underlying health conditions that plague our families and friends in minority communities. Proceeds from the walk with benefit Central State and Wilberforce Universities!
