Welcome to the African American Studies Series!

If you're passionate about learning more about African American history and culture, this event is perfect for you! The Black Americans’ influence and contribution to the history of the United States is indisputable. From science, politics and academia, to music, arts and social movements, Black History is American history. Starting the weekend of Juneteenth, we will begin a six week exploration of the Black experience in America with special emphasis on North Carolina and the Triad.


Why you should attend: We seek to build an intergenerational community of learners and teachers of all cultures and learning styles. We hope to create a space that honors the struggles, triumphs, and innovations of our ancestors, while fostering a sense of unity, understanding, and inspiration among all participants. Join us for this unique community learning opportunity.
