The Pamir have been known as “Bami Dunya”, the roof of the world, route of the traders and pilgrims. The area is completely isolated from the rest of the world, where each village speaks its own dialect and languages and every one has its own traditions. In this journey we discover the ancient land, once explored by Marco Polo, visit ancient forts, Zoraastrian shrines assimilating with Islam & Bhuddism which will brings us to the days of the Silk Roads.But that’s just the start! We will cross the border to Afghanistan side of Panj river and explore its rich in untouched nature areas, see the ancient villages and buy burkas at the market. We will spend a night with afghani family and observe their daily life. Area is safe, well isolated from troubles on the other side of the mountains.

DAY O // FRI
Meeting at 20.00 in Dubai Terminal 2 for a direct flight at 22.35 to Dushanbe.
DAY 1 // SAT
Arrival, immigration procedure, short rest in the hotel.
After breakfast we hit the road and head to Khorog. We ll be taking several stops on the way and lunch at Khalaiqumb, until we reach Khorog. Depending on availability of domestic flights, we may have an option to fly instead. Overnight in the hotel.
DAY 2 // SUN
Visa arrangements and cross Afghan land border in Khorog. Explore surrounding villages with a short hike to the nearby view points for magnificent Khorog Valley, if time allows continue to lake and waterfall. Full indulge in Afghan Pamir ambience. If were lucky we may pay a visit to local wedding. Overnight in local house.
DAY 3 // MON
Continue drive towards most beautiful spots along Pang river. Lunch in the local house. Cross the bridge back to Khorog. (PCR test for return flgiht). Overnight in the hotel.
DAY 4 // TUE
In the morning drive to Nurak dam and explore Vaksh lake area, lunch at the lake. Come back to Dushanbe in the late afternoon. Optional flight, depending on availability. Check local nightlife or overnight in the hotel
DAY 5 // WED
Transfer to airport at 2am for a flight 04.25 to Dubai. Back home 07.00.
Grade: Easy, available for everyone
Cost: Approx. 5580 AED all incl. international flights, except visas and compulsory insurance. Optional domestic flights not included in trip budget.
Accomo & meals: included. Hotels in Tajikistan and local house in Afghanistan. Sleeping bag recommended for hygienic issues.
Requirement: trekking shoes – no shoes no hike! Snacks, daypack, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, sports electrolytes, power bank, plug converter, towel, toiletries, warm clothes for evenings, head lamp, sleeping bag for hygienic purpose.
Visas: Costs related to visas are specifically excluded from the budget. It is sole responsibility of participant to secure the admission to the countries of destinations.
Tajikistan – you will need 2 evisas
Afghanistan – 200 USD EU passport, 270 USD for USA, applied at border in Khorog.
