Social Services is pleased to announce that beginning in November, the Housing Services division will be hosting a series of in-person Affordable Housing Development Workshop Series for Wellington-Guelph. These Affordable Housing Development Workshops are designed for elected officials, housing provider staff, directors, and community agencies in the local housing and homelessness sectors. Tim Welch Consulting Inc. will facilitate this series which will provide a detailed approach to key topics in development of new affordable housing. These sessions are available at no cost.
Day 4 - December 2 - Half Day from 1:00 pm to 4:15 pm
Rent up, approaches to property management, and long-term operations including understanding multi-residential operating budgets, coordinating with support service funding and levels/types of supports, accessing rent supplements or housing allowances, direct staff vs hiring a property management firm, lining up tenants during construction, capital reserves and planning for long term maintenance and operations, dealing with last minute building preparations before move-ins. Light lunch and refreshments will be provided at 1:00 pm
