Backbend Workshop
Info: Bend Not Break: a Mobility-informed Backbend Workshop
(Non-Pole) (All Levels/Beginner Friendly)
Do backbends scare you? Let's break them down! We’ll start
by regulating our nervous system, then we’ll do different
mobility-informed drills to practice pieces separately before
putting it all together with lots of options and entries.
Attendees will leave with a greater understanding of what
their body needs to work on to achieve this shape. You'll
need two blocks and access to a wall.

Spectacular Spreadies (AKA SPLIT AND VARIATIONS)
Info: *You do not need to be inverting on the pole. Static Pole Only.
Love spreadies but not ready to take them to the air? Try them on the ground with the pole as your partner! Emphasis on active flexibility and techniques to make flexibility illusions. Tricks include: floor jade, down splits, up splits, handstand/meatgrinder split, chopstix, and more!

Low Flow Pole (Intermediate)

Love working the base but running out of ideas? Learn Colleen’s favorite ground-based tricks using your butt, your forearm, knee pits, and other body parts to hold onto the pole while never going higher than standing. Tricks include: floor steel panther, floor sneaky-V,
violator, forearm stands, and more!

Lyra Roll Out (Intermediate)
Info: Roll Out: Intro to Rolls, Slides, and More! (Int) (Lyra)
*Must be able to invert from sitting in the hoop Ready to work on more dynamic moves likes rolls, slides, and drops?! Then this workshop is for you! We’ll do some skills from the top of the lyra and some from the bottom so make sure you can safely invert. Dress in layers – something to cover your back and elbows is key! Tricks include: parrot roll, lion roll, slides (”baby” drops).
