Cahaba Brewing Co. is having a benefit night for Alabama Environmental Council on April 10th with 10% of beer sales and $1 per specialty cocktails being donated to our nonprofit (and this part goes all day!).
Our guest speakers include our very own board member Pat Byington and Kim Waites, Wilderness Stewardship Coordinator for Wild Alabama. This talk will focus on the importance of the Wilderness Act of 1964 and the Eastern Wilderness Act of 1975, highlighting the Alabama Environmental Council’s roots in wilderness advocacy, dating back to its former manifestation as the Alabama Conservancy and its role in the designation of the Sipsey Wilderness. Kim will discuss how these landmark pieces of legislation have shaped public land stewardship and conservation efforts, as well as her work in education and hands-on conservation to inspire others to protect and connect with these wild places.
We can’t wait to celebrate this historic anniversary with you! Please bring a friend or 5! Your support is critical for the work that we do, now more than ever.
Food will be available for purchase at their onsite food truck The Current at Cahaba!
