Advocacy with Dr. John Daly
Good ideas don’t sell themselves, they must be sold! Acquire expertise to gain support for your ideas with ease. Analyze how political intelligence and persuasion acumen affect your success in convincing others to see your vision and support your ideas. Know how to effectively construct and deliver your message, position and differentiate your ideas, generate loyalty and commitment, and overcome resistance to be more persuasive.
Meet Dr. Daly
Dr. John Daly is the Liddell Professor in the Moody College of Communication, Regents Distinguished Teaching Professor, and Texas Commerce Bancshares Professor of Management at the University of Texas at Austin. He teaches undergraduate classes on interpersonal communication and MBA classes on social influence and leadership. In addition, he teaches a course on crisis management for the LBJ School of Public Affairs and a master’s level course on leading and managing technical people for UT’s College of Engineering.
Dr. Daly has worked with numerous firms such as Goldman Sachs, JP MorganChase, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, Hines, Delaware Investments, Roche, Amgen, Merck, Pfizer, Bayer, Astra-Zeneca, USAA, State Farm, Erie, Prudential, Essilor, Union Pacific, LG, Samsung, Kraft, Amazon, Apple, HP, IBM, AMD, Dell, PetroChina, CNOOC, Sinopec, Shell, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, AGIP, AT&T, Home Depot, Texas Instruments, UPS, McCarthy, Zachry, Austin Industries, Boeing, Lockheed, American Airlines, Southwest, United Airlines, 3M, Sandia, Livermore, and Frito-Lay, among many others. In the governmental arena, Dr. Daly has worked with the White House (Executive Office of the President) designing and implementing a major customer service initiative as well as with numerous Federal, State, and local government units throughout the United States.
