About this Event
Do you want to "be the change," but don't know where to start? Join BikeWalkKC's Michael Kelley for an in-depth transportation advocacy training. We'll talk about how decisions are made and where the money comes from to build sidewalks, bike lanes, and more. Plus, we're going to practice speaking up in a supportive learning environment to build your confidence before the next public meeting.
If you've skipped a neighborhood meeting or city open house because you didn't know what to say, let us help you find your voice and use your power as a community member to advocate for a brighter future!
Advocacy 101 (part 1) is a free program, but capacity is limited because we want participants to have a great experience with plenty of time and attention for their questions. If your plans change after you register, please email us at [email protected] so someone else can take your seat.
This is the first in our two-part Advocacy 101 series. You don't have to attend both sessions, but we hope you do! The material builds on itself, and you will get the most out of the training if you attend both the May 3 and May 10 programs.
