For our October presentation we welcome back Jane Ellis to talk about “Adverts from the Past”
Persuading the customer to buy a particular product has always been essential in an extremely competitive market, and the world of advertising has changed out of all recognition in the last 250 years. This talk looks back at adverts from international as well as local businesses, and how they promoted their wares and services. Some of these seem archaic, politically incorrect, outlandish and even plain comical to our modern eyes.
Refreshments will be available at the break and the raffle drawn at the end of the session. Members and guests both welcome.
