About this Event
Ages 2–16yrs. Eventbrite tickets are not necessary to attend on the day, but will be given priority if venue capacity is reached.
Billowing sails on large ships with colourful flags of European ports, sailors guarding their goods against pirates on rocky seas, international traders forging friendships with King's Lynn fisherfolk, and the exhausting every day life of a shipping vessel captain...
Create a colourful seafaring-inspired artwork during this playful workshop with local artist and branding designer Kayleigh Wood.
As part of the HANSA20 celebrations of King's Lynn's historic Hanse shipping connections and cross-sea friendship, this walk-in workshop will engage and inspire the creativity of children of all ages.
From fine seafaring sailors coming to King's Lynn in days gone by, to guarding local ships against attack from pirates and exploring the friendship the town had with German traders centuries ago, children are invited to join the workshop in The Place at any time from 10am-4pm. Simply walk in!
Come and help us create artworks with pens and paints that will then inspire a mixed mural of seafaring art which will be created in a town centre public space later in the spring of 2025.
This event is part of the 20th Anniversary celebrations of King's Lynn rejoining the Hanse League shipping traders, the event supported be a grant by the Love Your Town fund.
See you there, me hearties!
Children must be accompanied by an adult and can visit the workshop in The Place at any time from 10am-4pm.
