Elowan and Adventures in Brotherhood PresentsLearn Whitewater Kayaking + Camping Adventure
When: Saturday and Sunday - June 29th and 30th (option to do either day or both)
Where: H2o Dreams Outpost, Green River Gorge; Saluda, NC
What:
An opportunity to learn whitewater kayaking or refine your skills in a community of brotherhood including a night of camping, a fire circle and a tea ceremony. We’ll share food, stories, fun, and connection.
Saturday the 29th is Fundamentals for River Running 101 - “this one-day start up class will show you everything you need to know to whet your appetite for whitewater. We’ll cover safety, gear outfitting, and basic maneuvering. This class is perfect for the curious paddler or the earnest adventurer and provides a clear direction in how to proceed forward with your new lifestyle hobby.”
After Kayaking we’ll go to the campground, share a meal together, then sit around the fire and have a men’s circle.
Sunday morning the 30th Elowan will offer a tea ceremony upon waking then those that choose will return to H20 Dreams for Fundamentals for River Running 201 - where we will be given focused practice on stroke work, take a deeper dive into boat spin and control, and improve their ability to recognize and use river features to their advantage.
IMPORTANT:
We’ll be joining the already scheduled classes, and they could fill up at any time because they are available to the public, so if you want to join you need to sign up with them ASAP!
You can join for one Saturday, Sunday, or both days, depending on where you’re at in your Kayaking journey and what you need/want.
