'Gather Around the Campfire' and join UpaDowna with Montaineer Dan Crossey. Dan summited all fifty-four 14ers in the state of Colorado. He started this feat in the 1960s. Dan will share some of his favorite 14ers, discuss the lessons learned, and some of the necessary skills to survive and enjoy the hills.
Description of Presentation: Dan Crossey is a retired Colorado College Carpenter, climber, and mountaineer. Crossey is from a military family and was raised in Colorado and Alaska. Crossey's father was an Arctic pilot and engineer who often took his family camping, fishing, and hunting. Crossey was first introduced to Colorado 14ers in high school and has had the 'bug' for the Alpine ever since.
