Join ERM staff for a GRAND bike and hike adventure on the connected Jaega Wildways trails, including the scenic Ocean to Lake hiking trail (OTLT). This is a great opportunity to explore Palm Beach County’s connected wildlands and not even cross a road!

We will ride approximately 6 miles on compacted shell bed and dirt material (not paved) to the Ocean to Lake Trail trailhead. Hike about a mile on a beautiful section of the OTL, then mount our bikes again back to our starting point at Cypress Creek South NA. TOTAL combined mileage: 12 miles Bike; 1 mile hike.

Please READ thorough the DETAILS before signing up!

DETAILS: Starting on our bikes at Cypress Creek South NA, connecting to Riverbend Park and exiting the park onto Pantano Trail into Loxahatchee Slough NA - biking 6 miles to the OTLT trailhead. Hike about a mile round trip through beautiful old sections of the old Florida habitats. The hiking portion may be wet, so be prepared with shoes that can get wet and muddy, old sneakers are best. Then back on our bikes for the 6 mile return trip to Cypress Creek South NA. Should take approximately 3-3.5 hours, depending on the pace and # of stops. The bikes will be secure at the OTLT trailhead with a PBC Wildland Task Force Sheriff Officer.

Mountain bikes or hybrid bikes with heftier tires are recommended for this ride, the majority of the trails will be on compacted shell bed and dirt material, the hiking portion may be wet so be prepared with shoes that can get wet and/or muddy, old sneakers are best!

Please dress for the biking/hiking occasion, be mindful of the weather, may be HOT, MUST wear a bike helmet, and bring snacks and water, water refills available. What a great way to get your workout, outdoors in nature on Wednesday morning!
