There’s something magical about this time of year, isn’t there? The way the world seems to hush and glow. The way we’re all drawn--almost instinctively--toward light and warmth as the darkness deepens.

Join us at Trinity Church in Menlo Park for an evening steeped in the anticipatory magic of Christmas as we gather to craft Advent wreaths together and learn a beautiful home ritual to carry into the weeks ahead. You know those circular arrangements with four candles that mark the countdown to Christmas? They’re more than just decorations—each candle represents a different light we want to shine in our hearts, homes, and world during the darkest days of the year: hope, peace, joy, and love!

And here’s the thing: you don’t have to be Christian to crave that light. If Christmas trees and Advent calendars have found their way into homes of every background, why not the Advent wreath?

Let us feed your family, and get to know other families! Enjoy hearty minestrone soup, creamy potato leek soup, and rich beef stew. After dinner, kids (and kids at heart!) can decorate sugar cookies with gleeful concentration. We'll share brief stories about the history and mystery of this beloved tradition, then roll up our sleeves to create wreaths with the classic four candles! Make yours unique, adding your own personal touches.

You'll take your wreath home having learned how to light it week by week, creating a ritual that invites even the youngest among us to pause, reflect, and welcome the light.

There is a suggested donation of $15 to help cover the cost of the wreath materials. Dinner is on us! Please sign up for the event so we know how many supplies are needed.
