During the season of Advent, we’re not only preparing for the birth of Jesus, we’re also preparing for the new day when God will make all things new. Each Sunday we will be reading a different text about how God is breaking into our lives even now with light and life.On December 21, the Fourth Sunday in Advent, the reading from Matthew 1:18-25 will share the prophecy of the angel about God’s plan to bring peace to all people: “The young maiden shall give birth to a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means, God is with us.”
