Why Retreat? Why Now?
Whether the darkness feels overwhelming or light is breaking through, we invite you to pause in the darkness to look for light.
Advent is a season of waiting. We sit with the words of the prophets as we anticipate and remember the gift of God with us. As we sit in solitude and community, we become more aware of God’s presence with us in this waiting.
What to Expect
CR KIDS Retreat (1st-5th grade) Who are the people in the Christmas story? How do they experience God as Jesus comes to the world? Join Pastor Jacqueline to wonder about God as we make our own nativity scenes.
CR YOUTH Retreat (6th-12th grade) Join Pastor Stacey in the Student Stadium for a quiet evening of cozy warm drinks, thinking about the Advent season together, journaling in a comfy spot, and making candles to take home!
Adult Retreat: Take a deep breath and shift into retreat mode. This is a time to settle in, drink a cuppa, listen to your heart’s desire, and to explore prayers that might open us to find and name the areas of waiting in our lives. We will take time to talk with God through guided reflective exercises.
We will end with a Listening Circle as a time to learn or practice listening to God within yourself and in others. You may choose to speak or simply listen.
What to Bring
Comfy clothes, maybe a journal and pen for capturing thoughts and reflections.
