Advanced Shibari rope work

Course 3: Advanced Shibari rope work - the art of suspension. This is the third and final class

of a three-course series. Those who participate should have taken our first two classes, or

possess the equivalent knowledge needed to tie body harnesses (both chest and hip). Now that

you’ve become proficient at tying body harnesses, you’re chomping at the bit to give your bunny

wings. The first time can be exhilarating for both the rigger and the bunny, but it needs to be

done safely. In the first half of the class, we’ll look at the equipment needed for suspension and

factors that must be considered to keep your bunny safe. Hardpoints, rings and carabiners, oh

my! In the second half we will tie our bunnies into chest and hip harnesses and learn how to

attach the uplines. Then we’ll review how to run the uplines to the hard point and secure them -

for further fun. This class requires either prior attendance of my intermediate level Shibari class

or practical applied tying experience with body harnesses. Following the conclusion of the class,

there will be a 30-minute Q & A with the instructor. Please note that you will need to purchase a

separate ticket for each course. Tying partners are encouraged but not necessary - solo

attendees will be matched with a tying partner so that all can participate. Don’t procrastinate -

the course is limited to twenty (20) total participants.
