About this Event
This tasting class is designed for all the coffee enthusiasts who already dipped their toes into specialty coffee and want to deepen their coffee sensory knowledge.
The main objective of this workshop is to help you build a coffee lexicon like a professional. Attending the Specialty Coffee Tasting workshop previously will help greatly.
Activity 1 - IDENTIFY BASIC TASTES
We will taste basic water solutions with additives to identify the 5 basic tastes (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, umami)
Activity 2 - IDENTIFY MAIN AROMA CATEGORY
Using Le Nez du Cafe, we will smell and categorize the different aromas of the coffee flavor wheel.
Activity 3 - SCORING SHEET DISCUSSION
Learn how to score coffee! I will introduce the cupping score sheet and every single attribute with more detail and depth.
Activity 4 - TASTE THE ROAST
Cupping of the same coffee roasted differently: Light - Light/Medium - Medium - Dark. We will discuss the roast curve and how it affects the flavor profile of a coffee.
Activity 5 - TASTE THE WATER
