This is a hands-on course that will focus on increasing anatomical knowledge and understanding as well as improving palpation skills to support better assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunctions. This course will expand your knowledge of musculoskeletal and neurovascular anatomy and common dysfunctions of the anatomy of the upper extremity and back region. It will also teach you new techniques to improve your palpation skills and discuss treatment strategies. You will learn the science of anatomy, the art of palpation, and the skills of treatment.
Instructor, Nate Novgrod LAc. began his study of Chinese medicine as part of his studies of Northern Shao Lin Kung Fu, Yang family Tai Chi Chuan, and Qi Gong. He began studying these arts and Tui Na from Sifu Brian Moran in 1997. Since then Nate has continued his study of Chinese martial arts as well as medicine in several ways; he is still studying with Sifu Moran to continually improve his Tai Chi and Qi Gong knowledge. He traveled to Oregon to study Tui Na, Qi Gong, and Tai Chi with Sifu Moran’s teacher Tai Sifu Dale Freeman. Nate graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR. in 2009. He has been operating a practice in Waynesville, NC since 2009 as well as teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong.
