About this Event
Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) is a one-day course designed to teach providers, nurses, and paramedics how to assess and manage a severely burned patient during the first 24 hours post-injury.
Following a series of lectures, case studies are presented for group discussions.
Course lectures include:
• Initial Assessment & Management
• Airway Management and Smoke Inhalation Injury
• Shock & Fluid Resuscitation
• Burn Wound Management
• Electrical Injury
• Chemical Burns
• Pediatric Burn Injuries
• Stabilization, Transfer & Transport
• Disaster Management and the ABA Plan
You will also have the opportunity to work with a simulated burn patient to reinforce the assessment, stabilization, and the American Burn Association transfer criteria to a Burn Center.
Testing consists of a written exam and a practical assessment.
IMPORTANT: To be eligible for ABA CEU, registration is also required at www.ameriburn.org. The ABA will not charge for course registration. Payment for the course is made through this EventBrite registration.
The ABA designates this continuing medical education activity for up to 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ of the Physician’s Recognition Award of the American Medical Association.
