9th Annual New Year's Day Ride!
When: Meet at McDonalds at 9:30 for pre-ride talk and route discussions. Stands up at 10:00 sharp.

Description: Approximately 150 miles of twisty, mostly very rural roads with as much dirt as we can find. This is an extremely scenic and fun route with a mix of everything. I am working on some new roads to spice things up this year, but nothing anyone can't handle based on prior years.
We start in Folsom and head out Scott Creek then to Latrobe by way of a few easy creek crossings. From Latrobe, we take the backroads to Somerset, then to Fair Play, Mt. Akum and Fiddletown with a lot of single-car wide smiles. From Fiddletown, a great section of scenic dirt roads and then down into Sutter creek for a pit stop. From Sutter creek along the small mining roads to Dry Creek and then more dirt to Ione and finally out to highway 16 and Latrobe where we reverse the roads we came out on. There is nothing very technical on the dirt parts of the ride with the exception of one or two creek crossings (they are not deep but have a few off-angle shark-fin rocks). They should be passable by all riders on all bikes. If not, there will be more experienced riders to help you or ride your bike, as needed.
This ride is for all riders and all bikes as long as your bike can make 50 miles per hour and you are willing to get it dirty.
Pace: Speed limit +- on pavement; a fun "brisk" pace. Whatever you want on dirt. Be prepared to ride with safety as the number one priority, followed closely by fun. We follow the "wait for the rider behind" rule at each corner and leave no one behind. All riders and bikes welcome.
