About this Event

Have you crocheted enough scarves and are ready to start working with patterns? Join us for five weeks beginning on Sat Mar 15 2025 at 10:00 AM for fun and creative sessions where you'll learn how to crochet your very own tote bag. Whether you're a beginner or an seasoned crocheter, this event is perfect for anyone looking to unleash their creativity and learn new skills. Grab your yarn and get ready for relaxing mornings of crafting and socializing with like-minded individuals.

Each session of this 5-week series is 2 hours in the Fiber Arts Workshop at The Cambridge Foundry. We'll be following the Lion's Brand Kaye Market Bag pattern (available for free here) in whatever colors you want!

Materials provided with materials fee:

  • Tapestry needles
  • Needle threader
  • Stitch markers
  • 5mm soft grip hook
  • Carrying pouch for hooks/needles/markers
  • 4-5 skeins of Lion’s Brand 24/7 Cotton Yarn (enough to make two bags or multiple projects!) in colords of your choice
  • Printed crochet pattern for the tote

Take everything home with you!

The full series cost is $100/125/150 based on income. There will be a one-time $30 materials fee unless participants wish to supply their own yarn/hooks/etc. It is highly recommended that participants contact the organizer before deciding to provide their own supplies.

To prepare for class, you should become comfortable tying a slip knot, holding a crochet hook and yarn, and doing chain stitches. Bonus points for knowing single and double crochet stitches. Look online for video tutorials! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
