Join the GO Gurnee Walking Club at Independence Grove DPRT Grove/Haunted Gate (16400 Buckley Road, Libertyville)!Directions/Walk Details: We’ll meet at Independence grove by the sand volleyball area but will walk the Des Plaines River Trail NORTH towards Route 120. Along the way we will see the Haunted Gate (really). Once you enter Independence Grove go to the LEFT and head all the way to the end for parking. Note, they may check your ID at the gate. Entry is free for Lake County residents but you will need your ID to show you live in Lake County. Pets are not allowed at Independence Grove. Much of the trail will be protected by trees. The trail is gravel. Outhouse by the parking lot. Costumes optional. Sorry, NO PETS allowed.
