Complete the US Sailing Safe Powerboat Handling Course curriculum, proctored exams, and on-the-water boat handling skills required by the State of CT to earn this lifelong certification.
Students will learn the concepts and skills required to safely operate a vessel within Stonington Harbor and Fishers Island Sound. All NESS educators are experienced USCG Captains and will be aboard during on-the-water skills to provide instruction and feedback.
Skills include safe speed and high-speed maneuvers, navigation, person-in-the-water drills, and docking. Any necessary test-taking accommodations can be made.
