Join us for our Saturday paint nights at Paragon of Play's new Batawa Community Enrichment Centre! We are located at 58 Plant Street Batawa, ground floor of the old Bata Shoe Factory. Batawa is situated between Frankford and Trenton, and is famous for the Batawa Ski Hill.
We provide a relaxed and laid back environment for our paint nights. Participants follow along with step-by-step instructions from a facilitator, but are welcomed to change their design or add to their painting along the way. We always love comparing our paintings at the end, seeing how each artist's work is a little bit different!
We welcome *all* experience levels, even those who haven't picked up a paint brush since elementary school! Tracer templates and reference photos are available for anyone who would like to use them.
Our regular paint nights typically involve acrylic paint on canvas or canvas board, and when possible we provide different sized canvas for participants to choose from.
You can register in advance for the entire month or if there are just individual paint nights you are interested in, you can just drop-in at our 7:00pm start time. The fee for drop-in participants is $40 per person and can be paid in cash (exact change only) or by e-transfer to [email protected] If you are paying by e-transfer in advance, please note what the e-transfer is intended for in the memo section of your e-transfer!
Our paint nights typically last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours, depending on the level of detail... and how chatty we end up getting! :P
We are hosting paint nights every Saturday in November. Visit our Facebook/Instagram page to see all of our options!

Love our paint nights? We do too! In December we will be following a special holiday format for our schedule so that we can fit in lots of fun and exciting events. This means that although we will be hosting paint nights, they will not exclusively be on Saturdays. Please follow us on Facebook/Instagram or check out website for our December calendar which will be released on November 15th. We will go back to our regular programming schedule in January!
Our website is www.paragonofplay.com - we try to post our calendar for the following month by the 15th so that the community has two weeks to register for their desired programming.
What is Paragon of Play? We are a community resource space providing enrichment activities for children, teens, adults, and the whole family! Paragon of Play is owned by Jessica Spice, a mom and teacher who wanted to provide a "third space" for people to access, where they can engage in creative and learning activities in an environment that is inclusive, supportive, and welcoming. Over the past 2 and a half years we have built an amazing family at our Belleville location- and recently it came time to expand! We are so happy to be in Quinte West, and cannot wait to expand our Paragon Family to include the wider community. We specialize in hobbyist and casual arts and crafts programming- everyone is welcome, and there is no pressure to conform to high skill level work.
Along with our paint nights, we offer programming such as craft workshops, children's after school classes, educational day camps for kids, and private party/event rentals.
Our space is currently available for rental use Monday through Friday until 4pm daily. We are looking for organizations, professionals, and businesses whose vision/mission align with our goal of providing quality enrichment programming to support a healthy and happy community. If you are interested in utilizing our space during the day, please contact Jessica at [email protected] to arrange a meeting.
