This is a blended/hybrid course. You must complete two hours of self-paced online pre-work prior to attending the in-person portion of the class.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. You will build skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to those who are struggling. You will also learn how to help connect them to appropriate support.
After the course, you will be able to:
-Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges
-Understand how to interact with a person in crisis
-Know how to connect a person with help
-Use self-care tools and techniques
Who: Anyone who cares about their community and wants to learn more about how to support someone experiencing a mental health challenge.
When: March 4, 2026 8:30-3:30 CT / 9:30-4:30 ET
Where: Welborn Community Room, 20 NW 3rd Street, Evansville, IN 47708
Cost: $130 (includes a manual, participant processing guide, access to the online resources and materials, refreshments and lunch)

CEUs: Mental Health First Aid can offer contact continuing education hours for certain professionals. Purdue University is an approved provider of Category 1 Continuing Education for all of the following pursuant to Indiana Code 25-1-4-0.2:

- Marriage and Family Therapists and Associates
- Social Workers, Clinical Social Workers and Associates
- Addiction Counselors, Clinical Addiction Counselors and Associates
All participants receive a certificate upon completion of the full course.
