Info: The Aspire Programme of Study uses a flexible and individual approach to engage young people up to the age of 24 with an EHCP. Our aim is to engage young people in bespoke pathways to help them gain qualifications and progress into further education or employment. Our flexible approach ensures each individual has the opportunity to bloom and thrive. We tailor learning experiences to meet the unique needs of each individual. Popular pathways are art, beauty, animal care, maths, English and higher education. We aim to build confidence, resilience and a passion for lifelong learning, in a nurturing environment. We provide comprehensive careers guidance and support learners to explore their interests and make informed decisions. Our focus is to equip every learner with the skills and confidence to thrive in an ever-changing world. We foster a sense of belonging to ensure every learner feels valued and supported in a dynamic, holistic and inclusive learning environment.

Cornwall Rural Community Charity - https://cornwallrcc.org.uk/education

Info: Learn Your Way is a Post 16 programme of study which understands the needs of learners who have an EHCP. Students spend three days a week with us, incorporating a mix of life skills in the classroom and community engagement. With the right support and encouragement young people can achieve a qualification, build their skills and confidence, make friends and progress onto even better things! Work Your Way is a small, bespoke provision that is suitable for young people who require additional support to find, access and maintain work placements that could lead to employment. We deliver a work experience and a supported internship programme. We work alongside local employers finding opportunities that meet students’ individual skills and aspirations. Each programme develops young people’s confidence and supports their ability to travel independently and effectively work with others with the opportunity to succeed in the workplace.

Host: Kehelland Trust

Info: Kehelland College is part of the Kehelland Trust, located on a beautiful 16-acre site, just outside Camborne. We provide specialised education for learners aged 16 – 24 years old with an EHCP. The college delivers a structured three-year programme of education that promotes and encourages independence, confidence, and employability skills, with each year progressing to more in-depth and comprehensive skills. During each year, learners will work towards a qualification and maths and English skills, which may also lead to a functional skills qualification. Our three-year course is structured to provide outstanding classroom-based activities and work experience opportunities, both internally and externally.

Courses cover independent living skills; offer qualifications in English, maths and employment development; and provide extensive work experience and volunteering opportunities. The environment is nurturing, with small class sizes and high levels of support. Students praise the supportive staff, the safe and friendly environment, and the focus on building confidence and independence.

Programmes support preparation for adulthood and development of workplace skills. Students have access to learning and wellbeing mentors and peer support; they also get a free cooked lunch, which they can help to cook. Programmes are individualised according to EHCP outcomes and individual interests. We work practically with an ethos of nature, wellbeing and community. Activities include trips and visits and art/craft based activities. We engage with employers such as Newquay Zoo and Cormac to provide progression opportunities.

ReachOut Creative Futures - https://www.reachoutcf.com/

Through a range of activities, workshops, mentoring and support services, we help individuals improve confidence, resilience and employability. Participants are offered guidance on career development, life skills and personal growth, helping them navigate challenges and achieve aspirations. The initiative is inclusive, giving opportunities for people from all backgrounds and abilities to engage and build connections, making a positive impact on the local community and supporting long-term success. Learners work towards qualifications in functional skills and arts featuring digital skills, art and crafts, music production, DJing and textiles plus visits to various places in Cornwall. Our community café helps learners develop job skills and raise funds for charities, with other work experiences to suit their interests.

Info: Cornwall Supported Employment & Skills is part of United Response, a national organisation providing a bespoke employment programme for 16 – 24 year olds with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). The work-related activity focus is designed to help those who want to overcome barriers to entering the world of work. Young people are supported by specialised Employability Tutors and Job Coaches who provide them with opportunities in real world settings relevant to the employment sector they would like to work in with the potential outcome being paid work. As part of the preparation for adulthood agenda the programme maps provision to the Employment, Good Health, Independent Living and Community Engagement outcomes on the EHCP. Activities include healthy eating/cooking/life skills/travel training/money management. Progression after year one could be onto further learning through a traineeship model or our supported internship programmes.
