Adrian West Band

Adrian West Band describes their sound as “Paul Simon meets Talking Heads.” They mostly play original acoustic rock songs & instrumentals plus a few covers and jazz standards.

They performed at The Back Room last November to a sold-out enthusiastic audience and they look forward to bringing those good vibes back again. Talented pianist and composer Michael Echaniz will once again join the band on the Steinway Grand Piano, adding warmth and finesse to the music. In addition to Adrian’s originals, the band will play a couple of classic covers (could be anything from Dolly Parton to Supertramp) and jazz standards by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Norah Jones, Roy Hargrove and others.

One attendee last time said this: “Everything they played was just what I wanted to hear, and played just the way I wanted to hear it. I could not have been more delighted.”

Adrian's approach to songwriting is music first, lyrics second. He wants his songs to stand on their own musically, so if you replaced all the singing with clarinets or glockenspiels it wouldn’t matter, the song will still be compelling. (Fun fact: Paul Simon and David Byrne work pretty much the same way). As for lyrics, whether they’re narrating a silly story or riffing on the many challenges facing humanity today, Adrian’s lyrics are infused with equal parts hope, dry-eyed realism and lighthearted whimsy.

With its pristine acoustics and its down-to-earth vibe, The Back Room is the perfect place for this exciting show. The band looks forward to taking you on a voyage while you relax on a soft, cozy couch.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door general admission; $15 for students with ID. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.

Doors open one half hour before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
