On March 6, April 10, and May 1, Catholics from across Minnesota will gather to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament inside the state Capitol building. On March 6, we will be joined by Archbishop Bernard Hebda, Bishop Michael Izen, and Bishop Kevin Kenney of the Archdicoese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
This year, the Minnesota Catholic Conference reserved the Vault room which holds many more people. Let's pack it!
Here are three reasons why you should join us:
1. It's powerful: Gathering at the Capitol for Adoration is a testament to the profound belief that Christ’s Real Presence can transform hearts and minds, including those of our elected officials. We believe these prayers make a tangible difference, not only in the lives of our leaders but also in the direction of our state.
2. Participate in your civic duty: This annual event is a fantastic way to live your Catholic calling to engage in politics for the common good. Voting every four years in the presidential election is important. Praying in front of the Blessed Sacrament inside our state's Capitol? That's even more important.
3. Pray alongside Minnesota's Bishops: On all three dates, at least one bishop from a Minnesota diocese will be present to pray with the faithful. This is a great chance to follow the lead of our bishops who fully endorse this opportunity for prayer.
