Join Leonie for a fantastic day filled with adventure, chocolate, wine, and the picturesque beauty of the Adelaide Hills!
Our adventure begins in the charming town of Woodside, where we we pick up our mountain bike or E-bike for those who have chosen it..
Once we are organised and familiar with our bikes we'll set off on a scenic journey along the Amy Gillett shared bikeway, which winds its way between Oakbank and Mt Torrens.
Today's route will cover the section from Woodside through to Mt Torrens and back and while there is a slight uphill stretch on the way to Mt Torrens, we'll maintain a pace suitable for the entire group.
Our first stop is the delectable Melba's Chocolate Factory. After a brief but rewarding detour that takes us up a steep hill to this chocolate haven (just think of the chocolate!) we will wander through the factory and enjoy watching and learning about the art of chocolate making and the history of the building.
Continuing on our ride, we'll reach Lobethal winery, where we will enjoy a "Wine flight" showcasing their elegant Adelaide Hills’ varieties and styles. This is our turn around point, so after we enjoy our tasting we will head back to the highly rated Charleston Hotel, where we'll enjoy a delicious lunch (not included) in their garden.
Fully fueled and suitably relaxed we'll back track slightly for final stop at the beautiful Barrister's Block Winery to enjoy a cuppa or glass of wine (own expense) and wander their gardens before making our way to Woodside, which is only short ride from the winery so any purchases can be easily carried back.
For those arriving early or wishing to spend the afternoon wandering around the town, the Woodside Providore showcases the best of the Adelaide Hills produce and has great coffee!
Financial Club Members $120 | Casual $110
